Located in Yarmouth, a historic and beautiful harbour town on the western side of the Isle of Wight, sits Harwoods of Yarmouth. Established in 1893 as an ironmongery and forge, Harwoods has moved with the times and is now the largest chandlery store in the West Wight.

We stock most of the leading marine brands such as Spinlock, Starbrite, Holt and August Race and hold an ever expanding range of products that suit all requirements and pockets. With our knowledge of sailing and boating, there isn’t much we can’t help you with.

Environmental Statement

We are pledging to become more sustainable and environmentally conscious. In-store we are nearly finished switching to LED lighting. We now only use paper bags and sustainably dispose of all shop waste.

Our team

Danny has worked for Harwood’s for over 20 years, and knows everything there is to know. He is a keen sailor and member of the Yarmouth Lifeboat. If you have any questions, he can answer it

Matt has been with us nearly 10 years and has now almost grown up! He is our master of display and keeps all our ranges looking great throughout the year. His love and knowledge of fishing has helped many Yarmouth anglers catch the big one.

Jo is our latest recruit and has learnt the ropes (!) pretty quick. A keen open water swimmer, rower and novice sailor, anything on the water – she’s there – loving Island life.

Mandy is mainly responsible for keeping a grip on the finances of the shop, but can’t resist new things, pretty things and things the others totally disagree with sometimes. But it works!

You won’t get a better meet and greet service than our beautiful Ava. Our resident overgrown pup, always happy to help if it involves a stuffed penguin.
